Flinders Island Gourmet Retreat is ready to give you a cooking school and experience like no other.
The Residential Cooking Schools is perfect for a group of friends or family who wants to spend time in the beautiful wilderness and learn to put delicious and great produce to the table.
This experience is not a one-time sit-down class - it is an experience, a time to connect to your family or friends, and an adventure to learn and rediscover your passion for cooking. Your host, Wendy, has years of experience under her name in teaching and an endless passion for cooking and food.
The itinerary for Monday to Friday Residential Cooking School is as follows:
Day One -arrival, welcome drinks, settling in time, and dinner provided by your host
Day Two - for all residential cooking schools will begin with a breakfast then the full day cooking class, designed to culminate in a fine dining experience.
Begins at 9.30 with a folder of recipes which are read through whilst having a drink.
At 10.00am, hands are washed, aprons donned. Familiarisation of the kitchen, safety discussion and food preparation begins.
At 12.00noon, a break will occur with house-made treats for lunch. Food prep will continue after lunch.
By 4.00pm participants can clean up and take a break in their rooms.
Dinner service will begin at 6.30 with drinks and participants will be seated to enjoy their meal.
Day Three - participants will have the third day of the cooking school which will be a specialist cooking school in the morning and dinner out at one of Flinders Island’s eateries for the MF participants.
Day Four - MF Cooking School participants will have a day tour of the Island and dinner out at another Flinders Island eatery.
Day Five - MF Cooking School participants will pack up and be offered a recipe book class, time permitting or a snack or lunch, prior to departure.
